Clarification regarding the ongoing speculation linking Real Madrid star Rodrygo with a move to England with Tottenham Hotspur has on Wednesday come to the fore.
This comes amid confirmation that, as things stand, the latter are not in a financial position to meet the Brazilian’s wage demands.
Frontman Rodrygo has for his part seen his name freshly linked with that of Spurs over recent days.
Amid what has proven to be a hugely underwhelming first few months of the campaign for the 24-year-old with Real Madrid, Tottenham have been named as one of several keen admirers.
In turn, it had been suggested that the Londoners could launch an assault on his signature as early as January.
As alluded to above, however, any such operation remains highly unlikely to bear fruit.
As per a report from transfer insider Florian Plettenberg of Sky:
‘New rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur with Rodrygo are still wide of the mark. A deal would also not be feasible mainly because of his salary.’
It is also noted, though, that a winter move elsewhere for the versatile attacker is not at all out of the question.
