Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad were paid a surprise visit by representatives from La Liga’s medical department on Monday.
This came to put Los Blancos’ stars through a surprise doping test.
Real Madrid were of course back in action on the domestic front this past weekend.
In their first outing post-international break, the capital club made the trip to Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad.
When all was said and done, the visitors emerged dominant victors, by six goals to nil.
Focus at Real Madrid, in turn, had already been shifted to the club’s upcoming Champions League opener against Olympique Marseille.
As alluded to above, though, ahead of kicking preparations for as much back into gear on Monday, Alonso’s troops were faced with a surprise delay.
As per a report from José Luis Sánchez of El Chiringuito TV, Real Madrid’s morning training session at Valdebebas was pushed back by an hour after La Liga arrived to conduct a doping test on the first-team squad.
