The future of Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger beyond next summer is as things stand completely up in the air.
This comes amid confirmation that a decision is yet to be made on the German’s contract situation.
Rüdiger is due to see his terms as a Real Madrid player come to an end upon the season’s close.
Previously considered a pivotal figure in Los Blancos’ defensive ranks, recent months have seen the former Chelsea man’s prominence begin to wane, owing to a combination of fitness woes and competition for places.
And in the process, his future has been thrown into serious doubt.
The Real Madrid board have held several rounds of talks regarding a contract renewal for Rüdiger over the last 12 months.
To date, however, no agreement regarding as much has been found.
Amid mounting interest in his signature by way of Saudi Arabia, Diario AS therefore report that:
‘His future with the club is a complete mystery. The question is whether the German’s body is still at 100%, as required by top-level competition.’
