A long-time member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will join Italian heavyweights AC Milan this summer.
As much was confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday, with Luka Modrić the player in question.
The name of veteran midfielder Modrić of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe last month.
This came after confirmation that Real Madrid had made the call not to offer the 39-year-old a new contract was followed by swift links with a whole host of clubs throughout the continent.
It was the aforementioned Milan, though, who quickly positioned themselves at the front of the queue.
The Rossoneri would provide Modrić with the level of competition and playing time which he is seeking ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
On Wednesday, in turn, it should not come as much surprise to hear of an agreement between the parties being confirmed.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Luka Modrić will sign in as new AC Milan player after Club World Cup. The verbal agreement is done and sealed with medical to follow in July.’
