The performance put forth by a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid in the club’s latest outing did not go down at all well with those behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
This comes amid the understanding that Florentino Pérez and co. were critical of Dani Ceballos post-match.
Real Madrid were of course back in action on Wednesday, in a Copa del Rey meeting with minnows Talavera.
What was expected to be a comfortable evening’s work for Xabi Alonso’s troops, however, in fact proved to be a testing one, with just a solitary goal having separated the sides upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings.
Several Blancos players were singled out for criticism post-match, for their attitudes and technical endeavours alike.
And chief amongst them, at the Santiago Bernabéu, was the aforementioned Dani Ceballos.
As per a report from Fichajes:
‘The match was closely watched from Madrid. DefensaCentral reports that Florentino Pérez, always attentive to these kinds of signs, interpreted Ceballos’ performance as a worrying one.’
It is also noted that the former Arsenal man is viewed as increasingly likely to bring a permanent close to his Real Madrid stint next summer.
