Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has taken to social media this weekend, to reveal his admiration for Las Palmas head coach García Pimienta.
Real, of course, are fresh off a La Liga meeting with Pimienta’s Las Palmas.
Amid the club’s ongoing efforts to hunt down Girona atop the Spanish top-flight table, Carlo Ancelotti and co. made the trip to the Estadio Gran Canaria on Saturday evening.
When all was said and done, the visitors did, as expected, emerge on the right side of the result.
Their eventual victory, however, did not come without its challenges.
In fact, with a little over an hour on the clock, it was Las Palmas who boasted the advantage in proceedings, owing to Javier Muñoz’s opener early in the 2nd-half.
Quality, ultimately, proved telling, as goals on the part of Vinícius Jr. and Aurélien Tchouaméni capped off another late Real Madrid comeback.
The clash, all told, though, saw Las Palmas, and in particular boss García Pimienta, come in for yet further praise.
Amid what has proven a stellar first season back in La Liga, the former Barcelona talent has proven himself more than worthy of top-flight football, drawing admiring glances from some of Spanish football’s top clubs.
And, as alluded to above, another individual evidently of the opinion that Pimienta is deserving of all the plaudits coming his way, is the aforementioned Toni Kroos.
After his side battled their way past Las Palmas on Saturday, German international Kroos took to Instagram, to caption a photo of he and the tactician with:
