Real Madrid star Toni Kroos joins Messi, Ronaldo & more in special UCL club

Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has on Wednesday secured for himself a place in a special continental club.

As much comes owing to his latest appearance in the Champions League.

Los Blancos are of course currently locked in action, in the 2nd leg of their semi-final showdown with German heavyweights Bayern Munich.

And Kroos, as expected, was afforded a starting spot in his customary berth at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room.

This marked the 34-year-old’s 150th outing in the Champions League, etching Kroos’ name ever further into the annals of European football.

As revealed by statisticians Opta, the German international has become just the 7th player to hit such a mark, in the history of the competition.

The other six? A who’s who of some of the most recognisable names in the recent history of the game, namely Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Xavi Hernández, and Kroos’ fellow countryman, Thomas Müller.
