Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen has been pencilled in for a round of medical scans, amid fears of a potential injury setback.
Stopper Huijsen was for his part a notable absence from the Spanish national team’s matchday squad on Saturday.
Ahead of a World Cup qualifying fixture against Georgia, the 20-year-old, included in Luis de la Fuente’s initial call-up, was left out for the evening.
As confirmed by The Athletic, as much comes as a result of a groin concern.
Huijsen pulled up with as much during training with La Roja on Friday, left out a day later as a precaution.
The defender will in turn be put through a round of medical tests and scans this weekend, to determine the extent of the problem.
From here, it will be decided whether or not he stays put with Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish squad to face Türkiye, or returns to Real Madrid for treatment.
