A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is primed to return to a starting role in the club’s next outing.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Federico Valverde as the player in question.
Uruguayan international Valverde was for his part left out in midweek, as Real Madrid locked horns with minnows Kairat in the Champions League.
This came amid what has been a concerning recent spell of form on the part of the 27-year-old.
As alluded to above, though, later today, Valverde will be afforded the chance to get things back on track, by way of a start in Los Blancos’ La Liga clash with Villarreal.
Not only that, but the South American is expected to feature in his preferred role in the middle of the park, rather than at right-back.
Instead, Raúl Asencio will be chosen to fill in for the injured Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right of Xabi Alonso’s backline.
