A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week been dealt a heavy blow.
This comes amid confirmation of Éder Militão being set to miss this summer’s World Cup through injury.
Stopper Militão set alarm bells sounding in Spain’s capital for the latest occasion earlier this week, upon limping out of Real Madrid’s La Liga victory over Deportivo Alavés.
Ensuing reports suggested that the former Porto man was likely to miss the remainder of the club campaign with a fresh muscular issue, but would be back in time to play his part at the World Cup.
As alluded to above, however, this no longer appears to be the case…
As per a report from Blancos insider Miguel Ángel Díaz:
‘Eder Militao will have to undergo surgery for his new injury to the hamstring of his left leg. The Brazilian has had the scar from the initial injury, which occurred in December against Celta, reopen. Unfortunately, he will miss the World Cup.’
