Real Madrid star to drop to bench for Levante clash

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to drop out of the club’s starting XI next time out.

That’s according to Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, who points towards Éder Militão as the player in question.

Stopper Militão is for his part of course fresh off an outing to remember this past weekend.

En route to Real Madrid keeping alive the club’s flawless opening to the campaign courtesy of a 2-0 downing of Espanyol, the Brazilian opened the scoring in proceedings.

Not only that, but Militão did so in spectacular fashion, courtesy of a stunning long-range strike.

This capped what has been a thoroughly impressive return to form and fitness alike on the part of the former Porto man, following a 2nd ACL tear in the space of a little over a year.

Upon Real Madrid returning to action on Tuesday, though, Militão is expected to be afforded a well-earned rest.

As per a report from the aforementioned Miguel Ángel Díaz, Dean Huijsen and Raúl Asencio is expected to be Xabi Alonso’s central-defensive pairing against Levante.
