A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will not be afforded a call-up by his country for their upcoming round of fixtures.
That’s according to Globo, who point towards Vinícius Jr. as the player in question.
Wide-man Vinícius is of course one of a host of Real Madrid players to have seen their summer vacations cut short by the newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup.
With the 25-year-old also fresh off something of an underwhelming individual campaign in 2024/25, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has in turn felt it right to afford his former pupil some time off next month.
The Seleção have been pencilled in for a pair of World Cup qualifying fixtures as part of the September international break, against Chile, and Bolivia.
And according to the aforementioned Globo, with Vinícius having been suspended for the former, the attacker will not be tasked with making the trip to South America over the weeks ahead.
