Real Madrid star Raúl Asencio has taken to social media on Thursday, to respond to the ongoing speculation surrounding the relationship between he and manager Álvaro Arbeloa.
The name of defender Asencio has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 48 hours.
This comes after a series of high-profile reports were forthcoming in the media, highlighting an alleged falling out between the 23-year-old and Álvaro Arbeloa.
It was reported that Asencio ‘confronted’ his new manager over his lack of recent playing time, giving rise to a frosty back-and-forth between player and manager lasting several weeks.
Asencio then added fuel to the fire on Thursday, in responding to a question on the situation by explaining:
“You should ask Arbeloa about that…”
Hours later, though, amid mounting chatter on the subject, the stopper has moved to clarify his stance.
In a post on his official ‘X’ account, Asencio wrote:
‘I don’t understand the fuss you all make about things. The Manager is the one in charge, he puts the players in and takes them out. I have the utmost respect for him and all my teammates. A greeting to everyone and Hala Madrid.’
