A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid will not be available for selection for the club’s next outing.
As much has been confirmed by Xabi Alonso, who highlights Eduardo Camavinga as the player in question.
Youngster Camavinga has for his part spent recent weeks ramping up his recovery from injury.
Sidelined since back in April owing to an adductor injury, the 22-year-old has long been inching towards a comeback to competitive action.
In fact, just this past Friday, Camavinga was spotted back in group training alongside the rest of Real Madrid’s squad.
Hopes, in turn, had begun to spread that the France international could be called up to face Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup later today.
As alluded to above, however, this will not be the case.
Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, Xabi Alonso confirmed:
“Eduardo Camavinga is getting better, but it’s still too soon to call him up.”
