Real Madrid star reveals the new role Carlo Ancelotti asked him to play: ‘He was right’

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has revealed that he was requested to make use of his talents in a deeper role in his latest appearance on the international front.

This of course comes fresh off the attacker’s latest starring performance in the colours of Brazil.

The five-time champions were back in action at the World Cup on Saturday, locking horns with minnows Haiti in a group stage clash.

And en route to an eventual 3-0 triumph, the aforementioned Vinícius made his presence firmly felt once more.

After notching Brazil’s only goal in their opening day meeting with Morocco, the 25-year-old followed up with a further goal and assist against Haiti.

And much of the credit for his upturn in form at international level, in the eyes of Vinícius himself, should go the way of his beloved manager.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his Man of the Match performance on Saturday, the explosive winger explained:

“Carlo Ancelotti asked me to play deep between the centre-backs… he was right! I score goals when I play there. I have to listen to Mister more often.”
