Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga has taken to social media, to provide his response to being utilised in a new-look position in the club’s meeting with Barcelona.
Camavinga was for his part in from the off on Sunday, for the season’s first edition of El Clásico.
In the buildup to the clash, the 22-year-old was widely tipped to be afforded the role of ‘Pedri watcher’, in an attempt to keep the influence of the Barcelona standout to a minimum.
It therefore came as a major surprise when, instead, Camavinga took to the pitch in a right wing berth.
In what proved to be something of a masterstroke on the part of Xabi Alonso, the former Rennes talent was fielded in an advanced role, allowing Camavinga to both put his abilities on the ball to good use, and provide extra defensive cover along the wing.
The move left Barcelona unbalanced, frequently dominated in the lines between defence and midfield.
And Camavinga, it would appear, very much enjoyed his new role.
Taking to his official ‘X’ account in the game’s aftermath, the France international unveiled a post, reading:
‘New position unlocked, Right winger’
