Real Madrid star receives two awards

Real Madrid youngster Gonzalo García has this week been the recipient of a pair of altogether noteworthy awards.

This comes owing to his exploits on the books of Real Madrid Castilla last season.

Frontman Gonzalo enjoyed a stellar individual campaign at reserve level in 2024/25, on his way to 25 goals in 36 league appearances.

This proved enough to secure for the 21-year-old the status of top scorer in the Primera Federación.

Not only that, but he was also named Player of the Season in the division.

And as alluded to above, almost halfway through November of the ensuing campaign, on Tuesday, Gonzalo was at last handed his two individual trophies:

The new term, of course, has not proven to be nearly as productive for Real Madrid’s young goalscorer.

Promoted to a full-time first-team berth following his efforts at the summer’s Club World Cup, the Spanish youth international is yet to get off the mark when it comes to goals.

Sitting behind Kylian Mbappé in the centre-forward pecking order in Xabi Alonso’s squad, Gonzalo has been afforded just a solitary start, alongside eight substitute cameos across all competitions.
