Real Madrid youngster Endrick is ready to provide his backing to teammate Gonzalo García, in the race to be named the club’s new no.9.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Wednesday provided the latest on the situation.
The no.9 shirt was of course recently vacated in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad.
This comes after Kylian Mbappé opted to leave the number behind, to replace the outgoing Luka Modrić as Los Blancos’ no.10.
A direct race for the jersey, in turn, was kickstarted between up-and-coming strikers Endrick, and Gonzalo García.
After the former was initially labelled as the favourite for as much, recent days have seen breakout goalscorer Gonzalo instead increasingly tipped to take on the weight of the 9.
And as alluded to above, should this prove to be the case, Endrick will not kick up any sort of fuss.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Endrick hasn’t asked for any change, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, he’ll continue to wear the number 16 from his first season as a Real Madrid player. He hasn’t asked for the number 9, nor would he mind if it ends up going to Gonzalo.’
