Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has on Wednesday overtaken a former member of the midfield ranks at arch rivals Barcelona in the Champions League history books.
The player in question? Deco.
Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action on the continent.
After kicking their campaign back into gear with a hard-fought victory over Getafe in La Liga over the weekend, Los Blancos have shifted focus back towards the Champions League, in a meeting with Italian heavyweights Juventus.
As things stand, Xabi Alonso’s troops find themselves headed towards another narrow victory.
This comes owing to a solitary strike on the part of the aforementioned Jude Bellingham, who slotted home on the rebound following some brilliant work on the part of teammate Vinícius Jr.
And as alluded to above, owing to as much, the former has overtaken a current member of the Barcelona boardroom in the Champions League goalscoring charts.
As revealed by StatMuse, Bellingham has now racked up 14 goals in Europe’s premiere club competition, one more than Blaugrana sporting director and ex-midfielder Deco.
