Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé a doubt for France’s meeting with Canada

New Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappé has emerged as a doubt to feature in his country’s next outing.

That’s according to L’Équipe, amongst other sources, who have confirmed that Mbappé did not take part in training alongside the rest of France’s squad on Saturday.

This is understood to have come as a result of a blow suffered during Les Bleus’ midweek victory over Luxembourg, an outing in which Mbappé notched a goal and two assists.

Didier Deschamps, for obvious reasons, would like to have his captain and attacking talisman ready to play his part in France’s final fixture before the European Championships.

However, it looks increasingly likely that the 25-year-old will play no part in Sunday’s friendly meeting with Canada, in Bordeaux.

Whilst L’Équipe assure that Mbappé’s problem is not a serious one, the French coaching staff will not want to take any risks ahead of their Euros opener against Austria in a little over a week’s time.
