Negotiations between Real Madrid star Rodrygo and the brass at Premier League giants Arsenal are ‘proving to be very complicated’.
That’s according to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Frontman Rodrygo has of course seen his name heavily linked with a move to England with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal over recent days.
Amid the understanding that the Brazilian is open to a new adventure away from Spain’s capital, the Gunners have quickly positioned themselves at the front of the queue for his signature.
Negotiations, in turn, have been kicked into gear between the parties, with a view to a summer transfer.
As alluded to above, though, late this week, such talks have been stopped in their tracks, owing to Rodrygo’s financial demands.
As per a report from Florian Plettenberg of Sky:
‘A move involving Rodrygo and Arsenal is proving to be very complicated. There have been new talks in recent hours. The biggest issue is his wage demands, reportedly around €10 million net per year. Arsenal are not prepared to go that far.’
For clarification, the figures outlined above would be with tax already deducted.
