Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has this week sniped back at Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
This comes amid repeated claims on the part of the latter that Los Blancos receive beneficial treatment on the part of referees.
Real Madrid’s latest La Liga outing was of course packed with controversy once more.
This came as Getafe were shown a pair of late red cards, both of which manager José Bordalás made clear post-match he felt were undeserved.
As much sparked fresh chatter surrounding the standard of officiating in Spain’s top-flight, as well as favouritism of the country’s top clubs.
Speaking during an exchange with the media this week, the aforementioned Thibaut Courtois was therefore drawn on suggestions on the part of Joan Laporta that Real Madrid are the most frequent beneficiaries of refereeing decisions.
And the Belgian took full use of the opportunity to hit back at Barcelona’s president:
“Joan Laporta says we are favoured? He says that because he has to say it. Since I’ve been at Real Madrid I’ve noticed that we’ve never been favored but rather the opposite. There is a Negreira case still ongoing.”
