Real Madrid star hit with two-match international ban

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been hit with a two-match suspension on the international front.

That’s according to French outlet Le Parisien, who point towards Aurélien Tchouaméni as the player in question.

Midfielder Tchouaméni played a starring role for his country earlier this month, across a pair of meetings with Ukraine and Iceland.

En route to a 2-1 victory in the latter, however, the former Monaco man was given his marching orders.

Shown a straight red card for a studs-up challenge, Tchouaméni was no doubt aware that he was facing up to an incoming sanction.

And as alluded to above, early this week, the details of as much have been revealed.

The info comes courtesy of Le Parisien, who have confirmed:

‘Aurélien Tchouaméni is suspended for the next two matches of Les Blues. Sent off during the match against Iceland, the midfielder will miss the matches against Azerbaijan and Iceland.’

This news will actually come as something of a boost for Xabi Alonso and his Real Madrid staff, with Tchouaméni set to stay put in Spain’s capital for the October international break.
