Real Madrid star hit with one-match La Liga ban

Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin will not be available for the club’s next domestic outing.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the Ukrainian has been hit with a one-match ban on the part of La Liga’s Disciplinary Committee.

Lunin was for his part shown a red card this past weekend.

En route to Real Madrid’s victory over arch rivals Barcelona, the shot-stopper was in the thick of a heated late-match exchange on the touchline.

Considered to have taken his insults and protests a step too far, Lunin, who did not feature in the fixture, was in turn sent off.

And as per a report from Diario AS, the 26-year-old has since been sanctioned with a one-match suspension as a result.

Real Madrid intend to launch an appeal against the ban, but as things stand, Lunin will not be eligible to feature in Los Blancos’ matchday squad to face Valencia this weekend.
