Real Madrid star could extend his expiring contract

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has not yet ruled out the possibility of signing a new contract with the club.

That’s according to Blancos insider Jorge C Picon, who points towards Antonio Rüdiger as the player in question.

Stopper Rüdiger has of course long seen the subject of his future emerge as a prominent talking point in Spain’s capital.

As much comes with the German’s contract terms due to expire in the summer of 2026.

32 years of age and with his injury problems beginning to mount, Real Madrid have in turn been tipped to allow Rüdiger to depart as a free agent.

If the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, however, then the former Chelsea man has himself not yet ruled out the possibility of staying put.

As per a report from the aforementioned Jorge C Picon:

‘Antonio Rüdiger’s priority is Real Madrid. He by no means rules out a contract renewal if the club offers it. There is no rush, and it will be decided later.’
