Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has on Saturday set a new personal benchmark.
This comes owing to his exploits in Los Blancos’ latest outing.
Real are of course currently locked in action, hopeful of closing the gap on table-topping Barcelona in a La Liga meeting with Elche.
As things stand, Álvaro Arbeloa’s troops are headed towards precisely that, leading by two goals to nil.
And the aforementioned Fede Valverde, in the midst of a scintillating spell of individual form, has played a central role once more.
On the stroke of the interval, the Uruguayan bent a wonderful effort home from the edge of the penalty area, to put Real Madrid two goals to the good.
This comes fresh off a historic match-winning hat-trick for Valverde in midweek.
And as alluded to above, such exploits have this evening given rise to some personal history for the all-action midfielder.
As per a report from statisticians Opta:
‘Federico Valverde has been involved in 21 goals in 46 matches for Real Madrid this season across all competitions (nine goals and 12 assists), his highest tally in a single campaign with the club.’
