A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has made clear that he never took into consideration a move to arch rivals Barcelona.
The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.
Frontman Mbappé, in the midst of an explosive opening to the season to date, this week sat down for an in-depth interview with Movistar.
During as much, the Frenchman was drawn on a whole host of topics, surrounding his career, teammates, hopes for the future and beyond.
One such question saw Mbappé asked what it was like sharing the pitch with Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain.
And in his response, after hailing the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, the 26-year-old added an interesting tidbit.
This came by way of confirmation that, as his contract in Paris wound down, Mbappé never took into consideration joining Barcelona:
“I was lucky to be able to play with Leo Messi. He is totally normal, he has respect for everyone. I never thought I’d play with him because my dream was always Real Madrid. I never thought about joining Barcelona in my life.”
