Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has today provided his take on the long-running debate: Kylian Mbappé, or Erling Haaland?
The topic, of course, is a relevant one in Spain’s capital at present, amid the widespread understanding that the Real brass are on the verge of closing an agreement with the former, over the terms of a contract starting in the summer.
Mbappé, in turn, looks likely to be lining out alongside Rüdiger at the Santiago Bernabéu starting from next season.
It should therefore come as little surprise to hear that the German has given his backing to his soon-to-be teammate.
Speaking in an interview for Goal’s Tik Tok account this week, Rüdiger was asked, directly, “Mbappé or Haaland?”
And though the former Chelsea man hinted that there is not much between the players, he ultimately went on to opt for Mbappé, over Manchester City’s prolific frontman:
“That’s a tough one man, that’s a tough one, I would go for Mbappé.“
