Real Madrid squad ‘fed up’ with one Barcelona star: ‘He’s a bad teammate’

The first-team squad at La Liga giants Real Madrid were left less than impressed by the controversial recent comments laid out by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal regarding the club.

Wide-man Lamine of course grabbed the headlines across Spain on Thursday night.

This came after the 18-year-old, during an appearance on The Kings League’s Youtube channel, made use of the opportunity to aim a less-than-subtle dig at all associated with Real Madrid.

Asked if he is of the opinion that Los Blancos ‘steal’ in Spanish football on a regular basis, Lamine responded:

”Yes, they steal and they complain.”

Just two days out from the season’s opening edition of El Clásico, these comments have sparked widespread chatter across the media in Madrid.

And as alluded to above, such discussion is now understood to have made its way to the training ground at Valdebebas, too.

That’s according to Marca, who have provided an insight into the reaction of Xabi Alonso’s squad to Lamine’s jibe:

‘The Madrid dressing room is fed up with Lamine. The general perception is that Yamal is “a bad teammate”, whose off-field behaviour has the Real Madrid players somewhat weary. They believe that Yamal, which they do not attribute to his youth, does not respect the basic codes among professionals.’
