Real Madrid sign Spain U20 international Iván Morante from Villarreal

Real Madrid have signed Spanish U20 international Iván Morante from Villarreal, according to Diario de León. The midfielder will join Real Madrid’s B-team, Castilla and work under Madrid legend Raúl González. Morante has been compared to Sergio Busquets for his style of play.

The price Madrid will pay for the 19-year-old has not been disclosed. Madrid called Villarreal earlier this week to request talks on Morante, who was also a target of several other top clubs, including Barcelona and Manchester City.

The player has represented Spain from U17 level, and becomes Castilla’s third signing of the January window, following the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Reinier and Sevilla’s Marc Graul, who joins Raul’s side on loan until the end of the season.
