As reported by AS, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Rodrygo to extend his contract until 2028.
The 22-year-old will put pen to paper on a new long-term deal later this week, with the contract including a new release clause of €1B.
Los Blancos have waited until after the Ballon d’Or ceremony before turning their attention to contract renewals of key players. After Vinícius’ contract extension was announced on Tuesday, the next player in line for renewal was his compatriot Rodrygo.
The club have been in contract renewal negotiations with several first-team players such as Eder Militao, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde, who have all extended their deals. Team-mates Jude Bellingham and Aurélien Tchouaméni are also contracted until 2028 with the same standard billion-euro clause.
The Brazilian has made 14 appearances this season, scoring two goals and grabbing one assist in the process. Despite a slow start to the season, this contract extension shows the club’s confidence in the young attacker.
