The process of Kylian Mbappé becoming a Real Madrid player has been quite the complicated one. With a European Championship directly in the middle of the club’s plans, they have had to work the date around the month long tournament in Germany.
But now the club have announced on their website that they will officially present Mbappé as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday 16th July at 12 noon Spanish time (11 am BST).
This announcement came just before the club also announced that Mbappé will be wearing the number ‘9’ shirt when he takes to the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu when La Liga starts back up next month.
Mbappé faced disappointment on Tuesday night as he and his France teammates crashed out of Euro 2024 at the semi-final stage at the hands of Spain.
Thankfully for the 25-year-old, none of his future Real Madrid teammates where in the opposing Spanish lineup, so hopefully this will avoid any awkward moments when the Frenchman joins up with his new club upon the conclusion of the tournament.
For now we will just have to speculate about how Mbappé might take to his new surroundings, before we can find out over the next few months if he can adapt to life in the Spanish capital and bring his brilliant form from his time in France across.
