La Liga giants Real Madrid have early this week tied up an agreement for the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
The player primed to take his talents to Spain’s capital for next season? Ibrahima Konaté.
Defender Konaté has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe over recent days. This comes after word was forthcoming that the Frenchman had failed to reach a contract renewal agreement with Liverpool.
Konaté will therefore imminently become a free agent.
And as alluded to above, it has not taken the 27-year-old at all long to find for himself a new employer.
After the two parties were heavily linked earlier in the campaign, Real Madrid and Konaté’s entourage have on Tuesday closed a deal to join forces for the seasons ahead.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Madrid have verbal agreement in place with Ibrahima Konaté! Four-year deal to be signed, depending on if/when Florentino Pérez is re-elected.’
