The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are ready to fast track the potential arrival of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold to January.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Sunday provided a fresh insight into ongoings behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course long represented a prominent one in the headlines across the continent.
This comes amid widespread confirmation that the England international, ahead of the expiration of his Liverpool contract in the summer of 2025, has been earmarked as a leading transfer target at Real Madrid.
Initially, Los Blancos were keen to bring TAA in next summer, as a free agent.
Recent injury developments in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, however, are understood to have altered this stance.
With Dani Carvajal ruled out for the entirety of the campaign, and Lucas Vázquez’s limitations as a full-back having long been made clear, Real are readying an assault on Alexander-Arnold’s signature in January.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Real Madrid are determined to find a right-back for the winter, with Alexander-Arnold as their priority.’
It now remains to be seen whether or not the Spanish champions are willing to meet the demands laid out by their counterparts at Liverpool.
