Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has been called for a personal meeting with club president Florentino Pérez on Friday.
This comes in the thick of another drama-filled week to date for both.
Florentino Pérez of course grabbed the headlines across world football early in the week, in calling a sudden press conference in the aftermath of Barcelona’s latest La Liga title triumph.
The 79-year-old, from here, went on to take firm aim at all of the Blaugrana, Spanish football powers and even Real Madrid’s fanbase.
Kylian Mbappé then also turned heads late on Thursday.
Fresh off marking his return to the pitch in a 2-0 victory over Real Oviedo, the Frenchman launched a stern rebuttal against his widespread critics.
Mbappé also made use of the opportunity to suggest that he has fallen out of favour with manager Álvaro Arbeloa, sparking what many have since labelled as completely unnecessary drama.
And as much will likely take its place centre stage during an incoming round of talks between the 27-year-old and his president.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Blancos journalist Jorge C Picon (citing José Félix Díaz) that:
‘In the coming hours, a meeting is scheduled between Kylian Mbappé and Florentino Pérez.’
