Real Madrid preparing return for club legend

La Liga giants Real Madrid are actively working on finding a role for club legend Toni Kroos in their sporting structure.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

Midfield icon Kroos of course brought a close to his stint in the colours of Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

Despite continuing to perform at a world-class level, the German made the call to hang up his boots early.

His former teammates have since sorely missed Kroos’ contributions, chiefly his ability to control games from his berth in the middle of the park.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, though, then those behind the scenes at the Bernabéu appear to be feeling the 36-year-old’s absence just as much.

This comes amid confirmation from Diario AS that:

‘The Real Madrid board wants to fill the void Kroos left. His return will be for next season. The decision has already been made at Valdebebas.’

It is also noted that, though no final call has been made regarding Kroos’ potential role, ‘the desire of those in charge at the club is for the former Real Madrid midfielder to become part of the club’s sporting structure’.
