La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been tipped to launch a move for Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali.
This comes amid claims that the Italian international has been earmarked as the ideal addition to Xabi Alonso’s ranks in the middle of the park.
Real Madrid remain on the lookout for a different profile in midfield, following the recent departures of both Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić.
Tonali, in the midst of a stellar individual campaign on Newcastle’s books, is according to Fichajes currently considered the favourite to fill this role.
The Santiago Bernabéu brass, as a result, are said to be ‘preparing’ a proposal worth a fee in the region of €50 million for the former AC Milan man.
The reality, however, is that any such bid is expected to be knocked back without so much as a second thought.
Newcastle would demand a sum in excess of €80 million to even come to the table for negotiations with Real Madrid.
