Real Madrid on top: La Liga TV rights earnings for 2023/24

A breakdown of the TV rights funds set to be handed out to La Liga’s clubs for the 2023/24 campaign has this weekend been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Marca, and points towards Real Madrid, unsurprisingly, topping the pile.

As part of the Royal Decree-Law 5/2015, La Liga’s TV money split is broken down into several categories.

50% is split equally by all 20 clubs, with 25% determined through ‘social implementation’, and the final 25% through the final league standings.

Based off last season’s announced figures, the latter of these categories would amount to a sum of 343.5 million.

This figure is broken up based on each club’s position in the table following the final round of fixtures, meaning nine clubs could actually gain or lose potential earnings as part of this weekend’s La Liga season finale.

As things stand, though, the money would be handed out as follows, with champions Real Madrid at the top, and basement dwellers Almería at the other end:

  1. 17%: 58.4 million (Real Madrid)
  2. 15%: 51.5 million (Barcelona)
  3. 13%: 44.6 million (Girona)
  4. 11%: 37.8 million (Atlético)
