Real Madrid now have over double Barcelona’s salary cap after massive Blaugrana drop

The gap atop the La Liga salary cap table has increased ever further in favour of Real Madrid.

As much was confirmed by way of La Liga themselves late this week.

Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid have for their part seen the club’s wage cap increase marginally from €754.9 to €761.2 since the previous figures were released back in February.

At Barcelona, on the other hand, the situation continues to worsen.

Owing chiefly to the ongoing delays in their return to the Spotify Camp Nou, the Blaugrana have seen over €112 million slip away in their salary margin.

The reigning Spanish champions are now working under wage restrictions of €351.3 million, less than half that of their arch rivals.

Elsewhere on the list, as cited by Diario Sport, Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid round out the top-3, only slightly behind Barcelona with their own cap of just shy of €327 million.

Next up come Villarreal, followed by Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Real Betis and Valencia.
