A fresh insight into the dynamic in existence between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs has come to the fore on Monday.
And the news will no doubt come as a blow, albeit a largely expected one, on the part of those of a Barcelona persuasion.
As per a report from Marca, the powers that be at Real Madrid ‘no longer sees Barcelona as a rival’ when it comes to the transfer market.
Owing to the vast financial disparity to have opened up between the clubs, Florentino Pérez and the board at the Santiago Bernabéu simply do not consider their arch rivals as a legitimate threat for new signings.
This is to say that, in the case of those on both sides of the Clásico divide setting their sights on the same player, Real feel as though they can simply blow Barca out of the water from a monetary standpoint.
The capital giants are instead wary of rival interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
In fact, turning attentions away from the boardroom, it is suggested that Los Blancos no longer consider the Blaugrana a threat ‘in many situations’.
