La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been tipped to engage in what would be nothing short of a groundbreaking exchange deal with Manchester City.
This comes amid claims that the latter have set their sights firmly on the signature of Federico Valverde.
Nothing short of an integral figure in the squad of Xabi Alonso, however, Real Madrid would need a monumental return to even take into consideration his sale.
And here is where the idea of a swap deal comes into play…
As per a report from Fichajes, Florentino Pérez remains nothing short of determined to bring Erling Haaland to Spain’s capital.
So much so that the La Liga leaders would allegedly be willing to offer up Valverde, as well as a sizable cash sum, for the Norwegian.
Any such move would see Kylian Mbappé pushed out wide, to form the most deadly one-two attacking punch in world football.
The transfer remains a massive long shot, but is seemingly not completely out of the question for next summer.
