Real Madrid legend agrees free agent La Liga return

A former member of the defensive ranks at Real Madrid has this week agreed on the terms of a short-term contract with La Liga outfit Getafe.

The ex-Blanco in question? Dani Carvajal.

Full-back Carvajal is for his part currently available on the market as a free agent. Since departing Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract at the end of last season, the 34-year-old has struggled to find a new home.

Carvajal does not yet consider his career at the top level to be finished, however, with his entourage having therefore been tasked with sourcing a contract offer from a new club through next summer.

And as alluded to above, early this week, the veteran right-back appears to have found precisely that. As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, citing ABC:

‘Getafe have reached verbal agreement to sign Dani Carvajal, here we go! The medical tests have been completed and the club is ready for announcement — only waiting for La Liga’s approval on Financial Fair Play limits.’
