The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday evening breathed a collective sigh of relief.
This comes amid early confirmation that Raúl Asencio does not appear to have picked up an injury.
Defender Asencio was for his part in from the off this evening, as Real Madrid marked their return to action on the continent.
And en route to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Italian outfit Juventus, the Spaniard enjoyed a stellar showing.
Asencio produced a number of crucial last-ditch challenges and blocks, to ensure that his side kept a 2nd clean sheet on the bounce.
Upon the 22-year-old requesting a substitution late in the 90 at the Santiago Bernabéu, concern regarding a potential injury in turn quickly spread.
All of a Real Madrid persuasion will therefore no doubt be delighted to learn of the latest on the situation.
As per a report from Blancos insider Mario Cortegana of The Athletic:
‘Asencio requested a substitution due to cramps, but based on discussions in the locker room and initial examinations, it doesn’t seem like there is an injury.’
