Real Madrid injury update ahead of Rayo Vallecano in La Liga: Ferland Mendy, Arda Guler…

Updates on the wellbeing of two members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad have been provided on Friday.

Real are of course currently in the final stages of preparations for a return to action, hopeful of maintaining their spot atop the La Liga table in a home meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Boss Ancelotti will be forced to make do without a number of key names for the clash, with the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Éder Militao and Aurélien Tchouaméni sidelined long-term at present.

The Italian tactician could see his attacking options boosted, though, by the return of another long-term absentee.

As revealed by Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Arda Guler, yet to feature for Real since his high-profile summer arrival from Fenerbahce, is in contention to feature against Rayo.

The Turkish talent completed a full training session alongside the rest of his team-mates on Friday, giving rise to hope of an imminent debut.

Ferland Mendy, meanwhile, took part in an individual programme, after picking up a fitness problem in last weekend’s Clásico downing of Barcelona.

Should the Frenchman manage to train on Saturday, though, he too could be at the disposal of Ancelotti 24 hours later.
