Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign a Bundesliga star

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been afforded the opportunity to position themselves centrally in the race for the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Piero Hincapié.

That’s according to ESPN, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

Real Madrid’s board, it is understood, are currently scouring the market for fresh blood at the back.

In the knowledge that new manager Xabi Alonso favours a three-man central defensive unit, Florentino Pérez and co. are on the lookout for a 2nd centre-half signing of the summer.

And though the arrival of such a profile, as things stand, is not guaranteed, Los Blancos have recently been offered the chance to sign a player whose talents Alonso is altogether familiar with.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of ESPN that:

‘Piero Hincapié, whom Xabi coached at Leverkusen, has been offered to Real Madrid.’

It is currently unclear whether or not the Santiago Bernabéu brass are considering taking the Ecuadorian up on his offer.
