Real Madrid have a ‘15% chance’ of landing Liverpool star this summer

An insight into the chances of La Liga giants Real Madrid closing a deal for Liverpool star Ibrahima Konaté this summer has this week been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that, as things stand, any such deal looks unlikely.

It is of course common knowledge across Europe at this point that defender Konaté has made his way onto the transfer wishlist at Real Madrid.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the heart of the club’s backline, the Frenchman has been earmarked as the ideal profile by the Blancos brass.

Konaté is due to see his Liverpool contract terms expire next summer, with Liverpool struggling in efforts to work out the terms of a renewal.

With as much in mind, it has been suggested that Real Madrid could seek out a cut-price deal with their Anfield counterparts over the weeks ahead.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then the Blancos faithful need not get their hopes up.

Drawn on Konaté’s situation during an appearance on DAZN this week, journalist Fabrizio Romano explained:

“My percentage for Ibrahima Konaté to join Real Madrid this summer is 15%. Liverpool want to keep the player and try to extend his contract. Real Madrid’s interest is genuine, for next summer.”
