Real Madrid handed injury boost before Elche clash

La Liga leaders Real Madrid have early this week been afforded some welcome positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Dean Huijsen will be available to play his part against Elche this weekend.

Defender Huijsen was for his part sent home from international duty with Spain on Sunday.

After a training ground fitness setback forced the 20-year-old to sit out La Roja’s World Cup qualifying victory over Georgia, it was decided that Huijsen would not be risked against Türkiye this week, either.

Sent back to Madrid for a round of scans and medical checks, the former Bournemouth man’s status to face Elche this weekend therefore appeared to have been thrown up in the air.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, though:

‘Dean Huijsen has no serious injury as Real Madrid defender will be available against Elche.’

It is also noted that Eduardo Camavinga and Kylian Mbappé, afforded early respective exits from France’s November camp, will be available at The Estadio Martínez Valero, too.
