Real Madrid handed fresh Kylian Mbappé boost

The latest word doing the rounds surrounding the summer plans of Kylian Mbappé will no doubt come as music to the ears of the Real Madrid faithful.

This comes amid claims that the 25-year-old is looking increasingly unlikely to take part in this summer’s Olympic Games with France.

It has of course long been speculated in the media that Mbappé has his sights set firmly on playing his part for his country at their home Olympics in Paris later this year.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has been tipped to join the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Raphaël Varane in a star-studded Les Bleus squad at the games.

Such news, however, had not gone down at all well with his future employers.

Ahead of tying Mbappé down to an imminent pre-contract agreement, the board at La Liga giants Real Madrid are keen for their latest Galactico signing to play as little football as possible this summer, to ensure that he enters the new campaign fully rested.

As much comes with the explosive frontman already set to play his part at Euro 2024, with Didier Deschamps’ France squad.

On Thursday, those of a Blancos persuasion will therefore no doubt breathe a collective sigh of relief.

As per a report from the reliable L’Équipe, Mbappé is now looking ‘increasingly unlikely’ to take part in the summer Olympics.

Real Madrid’s disapproving stance appears to have hit home with the player and his entourage alike, with Mbappé having come to the realisation that he can’t realistically spend the first half of his debut season in Madrid trying to recover from an overbooked summer.
