Real Madrid fans bring back Barcelona star’s unwanted nickname during Sevilla clash

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions has on Sunday seen the return of an altogether unwanted nickname, on the part of rival fans.

The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona are of course currently locked in action, on the domestic front.

Eyeing a return to winning ways after being condemned to a first defeat of the season at the hands of PSG in midweek, the Blaugrana made the trip to Andalusia to take on Sevilla.

As things stand, however, Hansi Flick’s troops are instead headed towards a 2nd loss in succession.

This comes with Sevilla in possession of a late 3-1 advantage.

The aforementioned Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, has played a central role in Barca’s woes, responsible for fluffing his lines after being afforded a goal opportunity to draw the visitors level.

After the Catalans were awarded a spot-kick 15 minutes from time at The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, another trademark comeback appeared to be on the cards.

Lewandowski, in turn, stepped up to take responsibility from 12 yards.

The Pole, however, dragged his ensuing effort wide of the goal, to the shock of those watching on.

And as alluded to above, as much has since seen Lewandowski’s mocking nickname return in force online.

Fans across the globe, chiefly those of a Real Madrid persuasion, have widely labelled the 37-year-old ‘Lewandisney’:
