Real Madrid eye Marcus Rashford as Karim Benzema’s long-term replacement

Real Madrid are interested in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United next summer, report Mundo Deportivo.

After struggling with injuries over the last couple of seasons, the 25-year-old is in great form at Manchester United. Rashford has scored eight goals in 19 games for the club in all competitions so far this season and his performances have earned him a place in the England squad at the World Cup.

It is believed that Real Madrid have set their eyes on the England forward and would be keen to sign him next summer. With Benzema turning 35 later this month, Rashford could prove to be the Frenchman’s long-term replacement up front.

Rashford’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire in June 2024 and Los Blancos hope that they can purchase the Mancunian for a price below his market valuation.

As things stand there appears to be no contract renewal talks taking place between the club and the player.
